Projectomschrijving

Depressie is een frequent gediagnosticeerde en dure hersenaandoening in Europa. Het nadeel van de bestaande therapieen is de lage efficaciteit en vertraagde werking, waardoor het risico op zelfmoord toeneemt. Ketamine is een veelbelovende nieuwe therapie. Een hondenmodel zal gebruikt warden om de werking van ketamine op het serotonerge systeem, de hersendoorbloeding en inflammatoire biomarkers bij honden te onderzoeken.
