Projectomschrijving

De globale doelstelling van dit gecoördineerd, multidisciplinair onderzoeksvoorstel is het ophelderen van de interrelatie van systemische en pulmonale inflammatie en luchtwegremodellering in de pathogenese van COPD. De centrale hypothese stelt voorop dat "COPD voortvloeit uit een onaangepaste (dwz overdreven, schadelijke) inflammatoire en/of fibrogene respons van het lichaam op sigarettenrook".
