Projectomschrijving

Mutaties in MEF2 en FOXG1 werden reeds gelinkt met Rett Syndroom, een ernstige neuronale ontwikkelingsstoornis. In enkele patiënten werden echter mutaties gevonden de enkel naburige, regulatorische regio’s van deze genen aantasten. Dit wijst op de verstoring van regulatorische elementen. Het doel van dit project is zulke regulatorische elementen te identificeren en de functionele impact van dergelijke mutaties na te gaan.
