Projectomschrijving

Dit onderzoeksmandaat onderzoekt hoe de performantie van algoritmes voor videocodering kan verhoogd worden om tegemoet te komen aan de hoge computationele vereisten van de huidige (en toekomstige) generatie videocodecs en –formaten. Zowel het encoderen als de adaptatie (transcodering) van videostromen komen in dit project aan bod. De focus zal telkens liggen op hoge-definitievideo en de H.264/AVC-standaard.
