The objectives of this study are threefold and are: 1) the synthesis of glucosyalted deoxynivalenol and zearalenone conjugates and acetylated deoxynivalenol derivates, in sufficient quantity to conduct futher in vitro an din vivo experiments; 2) the study of the intestinal cytotoxicity and influence on cytokine response of these derivates; 3) to gain insight in the oral bioavailability and in vivo degree of hydrolysis of these synthetised conjugates using relevant in vitro models with intestinal epithelial cell lines and intestinal wall tissue explants, and in vivo bolus toxicokinetic models.
