Project description

Time inconsistent choices refer to choosing attractive, short term options instead of balanced, long term options. While time inconsistent choices are often considered to be equal to impulse behaviour, we assume that consumers make such choices to fulfil certain motivations. We investigate the role of three motivations: (1) justification, (2) self-reward, (3) emotion regulation.
