Project description
Thrombolytics are injected intraveneously to degrade blood clots causing ischemic stroke and acute myocardinfarcts. Recently also microbubbles and ultrasound have been applied to mechanically degrade tne thrombus. The aim of this project is to design rtPA loaded microbubbles. After ultrasound explosure of the thrombus, the microbubbles will locally release their thrombolytics and in this way diminish the systemic side effects of thrombolytics.
