The role of GPIbα shedding and glycocalicin release by ADAM17 is unknown. During this mandate, we will investigate where and when GPIbα shedding occurs in models of haemostasis. The role of glycocalicin will be further unraveled. Neutrophils strongly bind to GPIbα and this project will investigate how (trans)migration of neutrophils is inflenced by glycocalicin using models of haemostasis.
