Project description

Compared with terrestrial based biomass, production of char from marine based biomass are less investigated. However, there is a huge potential feedstock from marine activity (algae, fisheries, etc.), especially in countries where marine products are main commodities like Korea. During this study, potential of hydrochar derived from hydrothermal carbonization of marine biomass will be investigated on its application to agricultural sectors, waste management and climate change mitigation.
