Security rights are legal mechanisms to enhance the probability that a creditor will receive payment. The proposed research aims to investigate which security rights on movables offer a creditor more certainty of being paid in case of seizure and whether this result is justified. Thus, the proposed research aims to contribute to the debate on the effectiveness of security rights.
