Project description
Carbohydraat-epimerasen (CEP) zijn zeer interessante enzymen, die de configuratie van een suiker's hydroxylgroep inverteren zonder voorafgaande activatie. Ons recent CEP classificatiesysteem toonde een opmerkelijk grote diversiteit aan substraten en producten in de CEP1 familie. In dit project willen we de specificiteitsdeterminanten van deze epimerasen te identificeren door middel van mutationele analyse.
