RIP2 ubiquitinering speelt een centrale rol bij het activeren en het onderdrukken van de aangeboren immuunrespons geactiveerd door de cytosolische bacteriële sensors NOD1/2. Het doel van deze studie is om de fysiologische rol van NRAGE te karakteriseren in NOD/RIP2 signalisatie en om mogelijks NRAGE te identificeren als een component van een multiprotein E3 ubiquitine ligase complex dat RIP2 ubiquitinering regelt.
