Projectomschrijving

De chytride Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal) is een invasieve exoot in Nederland en België. Deze schimmel zorgt voor extreme sterfte binnen populaties van inheemse salamanders, en verspreid zich zuidwaards. Het voorgestelde, interdisciplinaire onderzoek omvat een combinatie van laboratorium- en mesocosm experimenten naast opstellen van ecologische modellen om invasief succes van Bsal na te gaan, met als doel voorkomen van verdere verspreiding.
