Projectomschrijving

De luchtwegen van astmapatiënten zijn vaak irreversibel verstopt door mucusproppen. De hypothese is dat rond deze verstopte luchtwegen een unieke niche ontstaat waar type 2 immuuncellen communiceren met structurele cellen om de ziekte chronisch in stand te houden. We zullen testen of het oplossen van mucusproppen en blokkeren van cellulaire communicatie toch een oplossing biedt voor irreversibele luchtwegvernauwing.
