Project description
The role of Bruges as a late medieval port and "maritime-cultural landscape" is inextricably linked to the dynamic interaction between nature and man via the Zwin tidal channel. The connection within the local and with the global trade network, the transactions in trade goods and the impact of foreigners residing in the region on material culture, will be the subject of this interdisciplinary research.
