This application concerns the technical expansion of already existing basic equipment towards a full-scale GeoTek “Multi-Sensor Core Logger & Splitter”. This equipment allows fast, qualitative and non-destructive geophysical and visual analysis on soft sediment cores. This will increase the UGent research potential for palaeoclimatologic, palaeoceanographic, limnologic and sedimentological research on sediment archives from lakes, ocean margins and coastal zones.
