Acute systemische ontsteking wordt vaak geassocieerd met ernstige levensbedreigende ziekten. We ontdekten dat connexine43-mimetische peptiden effectief zijn wanneer ze profylactisch worden toegepast, terwijl ze hun effectiviteit verliezen wanneer ze worden geïnjecteerd na het begin van de systemische ontsteking. We willen nanocontainers ontwikkelen die een hoge dosis connexine43- peptiden bevatten en deze langdurig kunnen vrijstellen om de tekenen van systemische ontsteking te verlichten.
