Project description

I intend to focus my research on the future evolution of dispute resolution, particularly how it is shaped by societal developments like digitalization. Central to this research is understanding the role and value of humans versus machines, as well as finding the right balance between legitimacy, party autonomy, and efficiency within the legal framework. My work will explore these themes from an international, comparative, and multidisciplinary perspective. While my current focus has been arbitration and to a lesser extent mediation, I aim to expand this research by incorporating other forms of ADR, such as Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), with a strong emphasis on emerging technologies like blockchain and AI. A key focus will be on establishing multidisciplinary research collaborations to enhance the depth and impact of these studies.
