De SINGLE-databank bevat de levensloopgegevens van nooit-gehuwde plattelandsvrouwen in het Brugse vrije in de 18de en 19de eeuw. Dit gebied stemt vandaag grotendeels overeen met de arrondissementen Brugge en Oostende. Op basis van hoofdzakelijk demografische bronnen werden in deze databank biografische en andere gegevens over de ongetrouwde vrouwen samengebracht (5.700 personen, 700 levenslopen, 50 variabelen).
