Lignocellulosic biomass is of particular interest as a plant-based feedstock to aid the transition from currently used fossil feedstocks to sustainably grown feedstocks for the production of biochemical and biomaterials. In this project the lignin composition of poplar (populous ssp.) and Arabidpsis (Arabidopsis thalina) will be optimized and its effect on biomass processing will be tested.
