Project description
We aim to study the properties and constraints acting on duplication resistant genes, i.e. genes that are under selection to be maintained as a single copy in the genome. In particular we will investigate the hypothesis that duplication-resistant genes constitute a fragile network core, that has been evolutionary conserved and needs to remain undisrupted at all times.
