Project description

Patterns in biodiversity indicate that movement of organisms and evolutionary processes depend on environmental variation and competition. Using experimental evolution on Tetranychus urticae, I will test how spatial structure, competition and disturbance affect adaptations towards a novel environment. This combined with individual-based modeling will allow generic insights on the relative importance of ecology and evolution for metapopulation dynamics
