Depressieve mensen lijke meer objectief te zijn dan niet-depressieve mensen in het beoordelen van de mate waarin ze belangrijke gebeurtenissen in hun omgeving controleren. Wij zullen nagaan of dit depressief-realisme effect gerelateerd is aan impliciete zelfwaarde en impliciete mate van een associatie tussen de concepten "zelf" en "depressief".
