Project description

The objective is to assimilate tropical land-surface characterization from SPOT-VEGETATION time series and in-situ carbon flux data into the ORCHIDEE vegetation model. The optimized ORCHIDEE model coupled with a land-use change model for Africa will allow us to determine quantitative estimates of the carbon stocks and fluxes in Central African forests under different climate change scenarios.
