Project description
Honey bees in Africa have an innate resistance against the varroa-mite disease that causes a lot of damage in the western world. In this study we want to investigate to what extent the protective alleles for the trait ‘suppressed mite reproduction’ occur in the Ethiopian honey bee population. The sampling of the honey bees was completed earlier. Only the laboratory analyses still need to be performed.
