The increased use of (recombinant) proteins in food/feed and in pharmaceuticals requires an in-depth analysis of the end product. Protein product analysis requires a range of methods including chromatography and mass spectrometry. This project aims to develop alternative chromatographic methods for protein analytics and for the specifical removal of contaminants resulting from fermentation processes, for example by implementing ionic liquids.
