Project description

This research studies the changes in the late-Roman aristocracy from 565 to 641. In this period the imperial elite lost importance to the provincial one. The base of this study is a prosopography to identify the different members of the aristocracy in order to retrieve the influence of socio-economic and institutional dynamics on this group.
