Project description

Thomas Brussig's Wendeliteratur is characterized by an ideology citique, aiming at the GDR state, its agents and the absurd realisations of their ideological programme, as well as on the contemporary sociopolitical developments in unified Germany. The project analyzes how humour and intertextuality, determining both the ways in which the texts are organized and in which they operate, are being used in this kaleidoscopic and ideology-critical assimilation of the youngest German history.
