Project description
Existing procedures for re-categorisation of buried flaws and interaction of multiple flaws in welds are not suited for contemporary ductile and tough steel grades. The failure behaviour of weldments with buried and/or multiple flaws will be studied based on a coupled experimental and numerical framework. Goal is to develop improved evaluation procedures.
