Project description
The current project proposes that economic recesssions threaten people's sense of self-integrity, as a result of which people may engage in various self-affirming behaviors. In particular, using a priming methodology, the current project investigates whether economic recessions increase identity-relevant consumption, socially responsible behavior, prejudice and render political attitudes more polarized.
