The plastic failure behaviour of ductile weldments with multiple flaws will be studied by means of small-and large-scale experiments and a numerical study of the main influencing parameters. Interaction rules will be developed, based on which the severity of weld flaws and their influence on the failure mode of welded constructions can be determined.
