De taak die Dr. Schmidt gebruikt is uniek omdat het sterke en consistente evidentie oplevert voor het onbewust leren van contingenties. Tijdens het verblijf van Dr. Schmidt aan de UGent zal zijn taak worden aangepast voor de studie van evalautieve contingenties, dat is, verbanden tussen neutrale en affectieve prikkels.
