Project description

Glycosylation can have a profound effect on the biological and physicochemical properties of a molecule. The aim of this project is to develop an enzymatic glycosylation technology based on the synthetic capacity of disaccharide phosphorylases. These enzymes will be optimised through directed evolution, in order to allow alternative acceptors like drugs and flavours to bind in their catalytic site.
