Project description

The US3 protein kinase of alphaherpesviruses induces rearrangements of the actin cytoskeleton that promote viral spread. The aim of the project is to identify cellular proteins that are crucial in initiating or exerting the US3-induced changes in the actin cytoskeleton, thereby representing potential novel targets in the development of antiviral strategies.
