Project description
Biosurfactants like sophorolipids are an environmentally friendly alternative to chemically produced surfactants, but are not yet viewed economically feasible. Here, biological production is further optimized using a unique approach. Ambient ionisation mass spectrometry is employed to obtain a detailed picture of the dynamics during fermentation, in order to more quickly control these processes and improve the productivity of these biomolecules.
