Project description

The abilityof populations of aquatic model species (damselflies, zooplankton, unicellular algae) to persist locally under global warming is studied. Populations are sampled across a latitudianl gradient and their genetic structure determined, most notably for temperature-related traits. Next, temperature adaptation and its interaction with biotic interactions are experimentally studied, and the resistance of populations against invasions by southern genotypes determined.
