De betrouwbaarheid van geheugenelementen in processors neemt in de toekomst af ten gevolge van procesvariabiliteit . Om toch betrouwbare berekeningen uit te kunnen voeren zullen we nieuwe softwaretechnieken ontwikkelen die het gebruik van defecte geheugenelementen vermijden. Door een programma naar correcte geheugencellen te reloceren op het moment dat de processor gekend is waarop het programma uitgevoerd wordt, zal de kost van het betrouwbaar maken geminimaliseerd worden.
