Project description

Although the pathogenic relevance of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway in the etiology of melanoma is debated, recently published data show that p53 is functionally inactivated in about 65% of melanomas by elevated expression of MDM4. Here, we set out to elucidate the mechanisms that underlie MDM4 upregulation by identifying MDM4 associated partners in melanoma using immunoaffinity purification.
