Project description

The Muscle Talent Scan (MTS) was developed at UGent as a unique method to accurately determine the ratio of slow versus fast muscle fibers that a person possesses using MR spectroscopy. With this method it is possible to do this in a non-invasive, fast and painless way.

In recent years, expertise has been accumulated to carry out this measurement correctly, which has resulted in a unique database that now serves for the interpretation of the measurements and their translation to sport trainers, scientists, therapists, doctors, etc.

MRI is gaining more and more input in the medical framework of athletes. In order to provide an answer to this increasing demand, we aim at the start-up of a spin-off that offers the following: 1 / the necessary support for the start-up of the measurements on an MR scanner and 2 / a GDPR proof platform for secure data communication, performing post-processing, data benchmarking and generating reports (license + fee / scan based).
