Dit netwerk heeft als doel een beter inzicht te verkrijgen in de specifieke mechanismen die aan de basis liggen van normale en abnormale exciteerbaarheid in het hart en het centraal zenuwstelsel. Hierbij zullen we op weefsel, cellulair en moleculair niveau de expressie, functie en regulatie van ionkanalen, transporters en ionotrope receptoren onderzoeken.
