Project description

The discipline of ‘comparative theology’ is sometimes proposed as an alternative to the ‘classical’ theology of religions which has been criticized for being unable to promote authentic interreligious dialogue. By means of an interdisciplinary approach, this research project aims to investigate the degree to which comparative theology takes account of the epistemological and methodological insights and achievements of both the theology of religions and comparative cultural science.
