The European Directive 93/13 introduced the principle of good faith in the European (domestic) legal practice. I aim to map out how the implementation of the Directive influenced the understanding of the good faith principle in the actual legal practice (micro-compartive law research). Secondly, it is my ambition to provide an explanation for why the notion of good faith evolved in one or other direction (macro-comparative law research).
