Project description

The goal of this project is to answer a number of research related to health, hygiene, behavior and welfare, first of puppies sold in Belgium. 1) Is there a connection between the origin of puppies and the type / size of the breeder and also the health and behavior of these animals and the satisfaction of the new owner after purchase? 2) How does it compare visibility import the Belgian legal framework for puppy breeders with the neighboring countries and countries that puppies in Belgium? 3) What are the current procedures by growers and grower-dealers regarding health, hygiene, socialization, environment-related learning and well-being of the puppies grow here and which they they are responsible? 4) What risk factors exist in the current housing and management conditions for growers and grower-dealers puppies and what is the relative impact on health, hygiene, socialization, environment related learning learn about the environment and health of puppies and grow here? 5) What scientific information is available to provide support to growers in monitoring health, socialization, environment-related learning and welfare of their puppies and to supplement the Belgian legislation?
