The exploration of a recently discovered and reported chemistry platform based on vinylogous urethanes and related structures, for its implementation in soft vitrimer materials, both in the shape of elastomers and hydrogels. By implementation of this chemistry on different polymer backbones and by regulation of the exchange reaction kinetics, numerous application areas for such soft, crosslinked materials could be targeted.
