Projectomschrijving

Dit project richt zich op de Franse filosoof en fysicus Pierre Gassendi (1592-1655). Het onderzoekt de verbanden tussen zijn empirisme (een kentheorie gebaseerd op de zintuigen) enerzijds en de toen nieuwe optische theorieën en experimentele methoden anderzijds. De volgende drie thema’s staan daarbij centraal: de fysica van licht, de fysiologie van de waarneming, en de psychologie van de waarneming.
