Project description
This study aims at understanding the 30-year long struggle of the Kurdish national movement in Turkey. In this sense, it examines the evolution of the PKK from an insurgent movement to a transnational social movement organization as well the emergence of Kurdish identiy politics as outcome of this movement. This research will be at junction of three areas: (ethno)-nationalism, social movements and identity politcs.
