Project description

Studies often have dull and worldly image. This means that young people will not be easily tempted to follow scientific studies. Because there is already a structural shortage of scientists and engineers, it can eventually lead to serious problems. Therefore the image of the scientist must be adjusted need, which is best left from the earliest possible age. In this project an expedition young people aged 10-14 years are included where they seek an answer to problems which they have to deal with every day (for example: why are shadows sometimes long, sometimes short). Through conducting a survey they arrive at the correct answer. By carrying out various problems in a scientific method, they will learn how scientific research works. These experiments can be performed at home or in class. At the end of the day a race is organized in which classes (third grade primary school, first grade secondary education) must resolve a question relating to science in a scientific way. For the winners is provided VIP day in which they are immersed one day in science at the University and participate in workshops. To support teachers in guiding young people, provides additional information for them and organize training sessions.
