Project description

The research focuses on the surface flow beds and retention basins with floating macrophyte mats in Flanders for the treatment of combined sewer overflows. The removal of suspended solids, organic load, nutrients and metals will be studied. Analyses of influent and effluent allow to evaluate the performance of the systems. Simulataneously the contribution of different removal processes will be studied.
