Necrotiserende enterocolitis (NEC) is een darmziekte van pasgeborenen die het snel ontwikkelt tot een diepe mucosale necrose. De pathogenese is nog onduidelijk. Wij wensen de hypothese dat celdood in het darmepitheel aan de basis ligt van NEC te onderzoeken. Daarom streven wij ernaar om te bepalen welke celdood route fungeert als een belangrijke speler in deze ziekte.
