Project description

An original contribution to the study of translation, cultural mediation and transfer, print cultural research, and reception aesthetics, the project entails an innovative and interdisciplinary study of the translations of a groundbreaking French Enlightenment philosophical work. Not only will it contribute to the mapping of the mechanisms of cultural exchange; it will also provide an original scholarly intervention relating the transmedial use of the text to reading practices, cultural production, consumption, and the national print cultures of the time.
